LED profiles - how to choose the right one?

Using popular lighting, which is a LED strip, we often forget about the appropriate frame, which can prevent an undesirable failure. The most popular form of binding is the so-called LED profiles made of aluminum or plastic. LED profiles are used mainly in the furniture industry. However, using them in other light arrangements you can get a stunning effect.
What is the use of LED profiles?
The main reason for using LED profiles is the desire to maintain aesthetics in the use of light. Of course, we can use LED strips without binding, but remember to be more susceptible to damage. In addition, the luminous strip devoid of the profile reflects the light spot and gives the effect of the so-called effect of "light bead". Instead of nicely scattered light, we are dealing with points on the wall. Applying the profile beautifully removes the undesirable effect.
An additional discomfort when using the tape on the furniture will be its disassembly. Removal of the adhesive left after the tape is broken may destroy our furniture. The means used to dissolve the adhesive will also not affect the furniture. In case when we use profiles, the only thing we have to do is unscrew it from the place of assembly, without damaging the equipment.

What shade?

LED profiles to have shades, which aim is to compensate for the effect of glaring LEDs and the scattering of light. The lampshade is additional protection for the LED diode. The advantage of using a window with a shade is that the LED strip is protected from dust and moisture.
Two types of lenses are popular on the market:
  • transparent lampshade: it has a higher light throughput than the opal diffuser, however, it is more transparent, which results in higher visibility of light points. This is not recognized in all arrangements, which is why alternatives arose.
  • opal diffuser: it works well if we care for good dispersion of light, but it transmits much less light compared to the transparent cover, which also has a negative effect on the intensity of the luminous flux.
