The right color of light

Yellow light, once the most popular on the streets, today less and less frequently encountered. Why does this fall in popularity? 
Initially, the yellow color was considered the best possible because it increases the concentration of the driver while driving. 
An additional advantage was the sharpening of visibility in difficult weather conditions, eg fog.

Today it's hard to find a street lit yellow. The most popular color used in street lighting, pavements and parks are white. The lack of that affects a better perception of the surroundings after dark, it is more similar to the natural one. According to the research carried out, according to passers-by, white light increases comfort and gives a greater sense of security.
In the years of using the yellow color of street lamps, city monitoring was not used. Today, by mounting cameras on the streets, we want to ensure the right quality of recordings, and the white color of lighting allows for good visibility in the material.

The goal of European street lighting standards is to ensure the highest energy efficiency of lighting, as well as care for the natural environment. That's why LED street lamps are so popular for lighting streets, pavements, parks. In LED street lamps, light sources are light-emitting diodes, which consume much less energy compared to other solutions.
On the scale of the city, and above all the country, it is a huge saving, not only financial but also ecological. This type of urban lighting produces much less carbon dioxide than the predecessor with a yellow color. Modern lighting is quiet, and besides, it has greater resistance to adverse weather conditions,i.e. rain, snow.
